Portishead Town Council is seeking an experienced, highly organised and customer-focused Customer Services and Administration Team Leader to lead and develop our customer service and administrative functions.
You will lead the Customer Service and Administration team, oversee the Council's public-facing services, and provide executive support for Council meetings, agendas, minutes and statutory publications. You will also act as the principal "super user" for the Council's CRM and HR systems, helping ensure excellent service standards, robust record management and statutory compliance.
Salary: £39,862- £42,839 (LC2 SCP 29-32)
Hours: Full-time - 37 hours per week
Location: The Folk Hall, Portishead, North Somerset
The role includes:
- leading and developing the customer service and administration team
- overseeing front-of-house and office operations
- coordinating agendas, notices, minutes and meeting records
- attending evening meetings as required
- managing complaints, FOI and GDPR requests
- maintaining CRM, HR and filing systems
- analysing service trends and KPI performance
- overseeing office procurement and administrative consistency across the Council
We are looking for someone with:
- significant senior administration or office management experience
- experience supervising staff or leading a small team
- excellent customer service and communication skills
- outstanding organisational skills and attention to detail
- experience of committee administration and minute-taking
- strong IT skills including MS Office 365, CRM and HR systems
- the ability to remain professional, neutral and discreet in a political environment
- a flexible, collaborative and solutions-focused approach
