You will play a vital role in shaping and delivering YTC’s vision for heritage and culture, helping to build purposeful and meaningful community relationships that enable YTC to inspire audiences through heritage and culture, and help to drive the growth of our heritage and culture programme and secure transformational support for an ambitious learning programme for our community to enjoy.

Ensuring the effective strategic and operational management of Yate Town Council (YTC) heritage and culture venues and sites.  This will involve managing and striving to continuously improve Yate and District Heritage Centre (YHC) along with other YTC heritage and cultural sites, and will also involve supporting YTC to develop and continually review a strategic vision for Town Council heritage and cultural services and assets, to ensure the community is engaged meaningfully and to attract external funds.

Develop and support a vibrant volunteer base and programme of community events (including acting as heritage event lead), building on strong existing work.

Supervise usage of YTC heritage venues and sites and to engage new audiences, alongside long-standing users. This postholder will help to bridge the gap between the Town Council’s heritage previous successes and an exciting future for the Town Council’s heritage and culture service offering.
