In summary, expectations of the role include:
- Governance & Compliance: Ensuring the council follows legislation, Standing Orders, financial regulations, and statutory duties.
- Administration & Meetings: Preparing agendas, writing minutes, managing correspondence, and keeping accurate records.
- Financial Stewardship: Overseeing budgets, payments, audits, and supporting the Responsible Financial Officer function.
- Planning & Consultation: Coordinating the parish’s statutory responses to planning applications and liaising with South Gloucestershire Council.
- Community Engagement: Maintaining clear communication with residents, managing the website and noticeboards, and supporting local groups.
- Project & Asset Management: Helping deliver council projects and ensuring parish assets, play areas, and green spaces are properly maintained.
- CiLCA qualification desirable but training will be provided.
