This year Dr Bryan Smith of Brockley Parish Council represented ALCA at the Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace. Each year the County Associations can select councillors who have given good service to the sector to represent them at a Royal Garden Party.

Cllr Symth was nominated for his exceptionally long service spanning 51 years. First elected in May 1969, he served as Chairman of Brockley Parish Council for 14 years from 1980 to 1994. He has overseen much change in the parish and has been an invaluable guide to all members of the Council.
